Cricket West Indies (CWI) said on Monday that the final decision on the upcoming Bangladesh tour will be made next week. The West Indies are expected to play three Tests, three ODIs and two T20 matches on their tour to Bangladesh in January.

Cricket West Indies however is not keen on playing both T20 matches and one Test match on this tour and wants to settle the series as soon as possible. CWI President Ricky Skerritt said on Monday that he was yet to take a decision regarding the upcoming Bangladesh tour. The tour has not been finalized yet.

Cricket West Indies' two-member inspection team expressed satisfaction with the Bangladesh Cricket Board's Kovid-19 security protocol. Skerrit said that since it involves too many matches, he has to keep everything in mind before finalizing the tour.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) cricket operations chairman Akram Khan said that the board is still waiting for the CWI's reply and there are indications that the series may be shortened.

Akram said, "It is not that they are not willing to play, but they are not ready to stay here for long." In recent times, there was a problem of bio-bubble during the England-South Africa series. "
