Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released a commemorative coin of 100 rupees on the occasion of the birth centenary of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia.

While releasing the commemorative coin, the Prime Minister spoke about his experiences during the Rath Yatra and Ekta Yatra with Rajmata. He said, "It is my privilege that I have got the opportunity to issue this special commemorative coin in memory of Rajmata. Though the event is not grand due to Corona but it is divine. Rajmata was one of the few people who gave direction to the country in the last century. She was not just an idol of Vatsalya, but she was a decisive leader and a skilled administrator. She was a witness to every important phase of Indian politics from the independence movement to the decades after independence. ”

He said, "Before independence, the burning of Holi of foreign clothes from the Emergency and the Ram Mandir movement to the Rajmata's experience has been widespread. It is necessary to talk about them and their experiences again and again, to know and take inspiration from Rajmata's journey and his life message. "

Shri Modi said, “She did not belong to any royal family before marriage but after marriage she adopted everyone and also taught the lesson that any ordinary person can make power a medium of service in this democracy. They had power, property and strength, but what they had more than this was their culture, service and affection. These thoughts and these ideals can be seen at every step of his life. Rajmata proved that public service is of paramount importance to public representatives. She belonged to the royal family but she fought for democracy. What he endured during the Emergency is well known. He spent a significant period of his life in prison. "

Union Culture and Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel, while opening the ceremony, thanked the Prime Minister for releasing the commemorative coin in memory of Rajmata and shared her experiences with Rajmata. He said, “On the occasion of the birth centenary of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia ji, the central government had decided to issue a commemorative coin of Rs 100. I and the Ministry of Culture express their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for agreeing to release this commemorative coin. We are fortunate that our generation got the consort of Rajmata. We can never forget those moments of our companionship. He had all the wealth, status and prestige, but his behavior was easy, simple and gentle, full of egoless motherhood. Whatever he got could not remain unaffected. Nobody can forget their motherhood. "

He said, "Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia, who founded the foundation in 1980 to build the Bharatiya Janata Party, is one of the few grass-roots founders of the BJP. She was the BJP's national vice president and was always ahead in the expansion of the party. His exemplary life has earned him immense reverence among the general public. She was a public leader.
