Akshay Kumar, known for his action-packed roles and performing many of his
own stunts, recently reflected on the challenges of being a fighter pilot while
promoting his latest film, Sky Force. In the movie, Akshay portrays an
Air Force officer, prompting the question of whether he could actually qualify
as a fighter pilot in real life.
Speaking in an interview with BookMyShow, Akshay expressed his admiration
for the profession, acknowledging its demands. "I hope so, and I would
definitely give my best shot. Fighter pilot training is no joke. It requires
immense skill, focus, and discipline. With my background in fitness and martial
arts, I think I could manage the physical aspects," he said confidently.
However, Akshay candidly admitted that academic qualifications would be his
downfall. "If you look at my education, I think I’d fail the test,"
he said with a laugh, adding, "Flying a fighter jet is on a completely
different level. It requires rigorous training to match the expertise of our
real heroes."
The actor, who once hosted Khatron Ke Khiladi and earned the
nickname 'Khiladi Kumar' for his daredevil stunts, reiterated his deep respect
for the preparation and skill needed to fly such advanced machines. "It’s
a whole different world, and I would need extensive training to even come
close," he concluded.
Akshay’s humility and recognition of the extraordinary commitment required
for the job further underscore his respect for the armed forces and their
heroic efforts.
