The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, has on Saturday paid tributes to Swami Vivekananda on his death anniversary. Shah said that Swami Ji not only reinforced the spirit of nationalism in the country, but he also enriched the whole world with the ethos of Indian culture.

He also said the relevance of Swami Vivekananda's thoughts on education, universal brotherhood and self-awakening continues to remain unbroken even present days.

Reads, In another statement by the Home Ministry quoting Amit Shah "Swami Vivekananda was a patriotic saint, a great thinker and an exemplary orator who not only reinforced the spirit of nationalism in India but also enriched the whole world with the ethos of Indian culture”.

Noticeably, Swami Vivekananda, initially known as Narendranath Datta, was an Indian Hindu monk. He was a chief disciple of the 19th-century Indian mystic Ramakrishna. Swami ji was born on January 12, 1863 and left for his heavenly abode on July 4, 1902.
