Bodies of couple, 2 children recovered from house in UP

Bodies of a couple and their two children were recovered from a house here under suspicious circumstances on Friday.

Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhar Chaudhary told UNI that the bodies of Chetan (45), his wife Ritu (42), son Harsh (16) and Mansi (14) were recovered from their homes in the Nachinkuwan colony.

The bodies of the couple were found hanging while those of the kids were lying in another room.

A suicide note of four pages has also been recovered from the spot.

Prima facie, it is being suspected that the parents strangulated their children before committing suicide themselves.

Preliminiary investigation has revealed that the couple may have taken the extreme step due to a property dispute within the family.

Reportedly, Chetan had a dispute with his father due to which the couple was suffering from stress since the past few days.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem after which the exact causes behind the death will be ascertained.

Further investigation is underway.
