COVID-19: 59 New Cases Registered in Mumbai, Tally Touches 2064 in Marashtra

The Coronavirus positive cases have crossed 9,000-mark in India. According to the information procured from the Union Health Ministry, the total number of Coronavirus disease cases has reached 9,152 till Monday morning
.

The death toll has reached 308, including 35 deaths in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh are some of the worst affected states by the coronavirus infection.

Government reports revealed that Maharashtra’s tally has touched 2064, while Mumbai reported about 59 COVID-19 cases till Monday morning. Maharashtra, Punjab, West Bengal and Odisha have extended the lockdown till April 30.

On the other hands, sources revealed that the Centre was likely to make a formal announcement regarding extension nationwide lockdown that was scheduled to end on April 14, 2020.

Chief Ministers of few states, during a video conferencing meeting with the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on April 11, 2020, were in favor to extend the nationwide lockdown at least for two more weeks.

Soon after the meeting, Maharashtra and West Bengal governments went ahead to announce that the states would remain locked down till April 30. Odisha and Punjab have already announced to extend the lockdown couple of days ago.

The deadly virus has claimed at least 20,506 lives in the US, which leads the world in deaths and in the number of declared infections.
