About a month after the formation of the government in Madhya Pradesh, a cabinet has been formed in the Shivraj Singh Chauhan government. On Tuesday, Narottam Mishra, Kamal Patel, Meena Singh, Tulsi Silawat and Govind Singh Rajput were sworn in as ministers. Till now, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was alone in the power of the state.

Five ministers took oath at the swearing-in ceremony held at Raj Bhavan at 12 noon. Governor Lalji Tandon administered the oath to the ministers of Shivraj cabinet in a simple ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. Social distancing and other precautionary measures were taken care of in view of the corona during the event.

Shivraj Singh Chauhan was sworn in as the Chief Minister at the Raj Bhavan here on March 23, when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government was formed. Along with this, they are constantly struggling with the conditions arising due to corona. The exercise for the formation of the cabinet had intensified for the last about a week.

The Congress came to power 15 years after the Assembly elections held in December 2018, but the then Chief Minister Kamal Nath had to resign a month ago on March 20 due to a rebellion from senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and his supporting legislators.

After this, on 23 March, Chauhan was sworn in as Chief Minister. Assuming the number of members in the 230-member state assembly (maximum 15 percent), the cabinet can have a maximum of 35 members, including the Chief Minister.
