Country’s Premier Public Sector Bank Issues Fresh Time-Table

Concerned over the second wave of the deadly Corona virus across the country, India’s premier multinational and Public Sector Bank, State Bank of India (SBI) has differed opening and closing times of all branches.

The bank authorities have also appealed the customers to keep away from unnecessary visit of the bank branches. As per the fresh schedule the branches would be opened only for four hours a day and the timing would from 10 am to 2 pm. The authorities confirmed that this schedule would be followed till the next order. Noticeably, SBI and other banks are now exerting their efforts to keep away from face to face interaction with customers. Only those seeking services including like: cash deposits, withdrawals, cheque clearances, remittances & government transactions at SBI branches are allowed to visit the branches.

The SBI has resolved to follow all required COVID-19 protocols including, social distancing and sanitization of the entire campus so as to provide safety to their customers as well as the employees. Besides, using face mask is mandatory for the visiting customers in any branch of the SBI. This apart, customers are also supposed to measure their body temperature and sanitizing their hands before entering into the bank branches. A top SBI officer said, “Safety measures are our priority. We don’t want leave any stone unturned in keeping our employees and the valuable customers safe and protected”. This bank is now focusing on digital banking through its website and services. It has appealed all its customers to avoid manual works and use the debit-credit cards, RTGS, NEFT, UPI and RuPay cards as given in the SBI website. This premier bank has also decided to provide its customers with contactless services so that they can get assistance in urgency. The SBI has released its toll free numbers – 1800112211 & 18004253800.  The customers would be able to know their balance and recent transactions at IVR and via SMS.
