Remnant of the extremely severe cyclonic storm 'Tauktae' is very likely to move north-eastwards and weaken gradually into a well-marked low pressure area during next 12 hours, the Ministry of Earth Science said in a statement on Wednesday.

It is very likely to move further north-eastwards across Rajasthan to west Uttar Pradesh during the next two days.

The Deep Depression over Gujarat region moved north-eastwards with a speed of about 07 kmph during past 6 hours, weakened into a Depression and lay centred at 0530 hrs this morning over south Rajasthan and adjoining Gujarat region, the statement said.

Cyclone Tauktae has wreaked havoc in Gujarat, Maharashtra, parts of Karnataka and Goa and claimed at least 13 lives.

After making a landfall in the Saurashtra region on Monday night, the cyclone--with very strong winds and heavy rainfall-- damaged nearly 16,500 houses and uprooted over 40,000 trees.

Braving the weather, the Indian Navy and Coast Guard launched search and rescue operations and rescued 317 people on board two barges that went adrift in the Arabian Sea near Mumbai hours before Cyclone Tauktae made landfall on the Gujarat coast.

However, 390 people remain stranded or missing from offshore facilities, as per reports.

At least, 637 men have been rescued so far, while 80 are missing. The men are maintenance staff working on ONGC off-shore sites. Search operations will continue for three more days
