The International Football Federation's FIFA Ethics Committee has banned South Africa Football Federation (CAF) chief Ahmed Ahmed for five years in football in a corruption case while serving on him and two lakh He has also fined twenty thousand dollars.


FIFA issued the statement saying, "After an extensive hearing, the Assistant Chamber ruled that on the basis of information gathered by the investigative chamber, CAF Chief Ahmed violated his duty while in office and misused gifts and money and CAF President Also misused his position as FIFA . " FIFA said Ahmed was investigated on several other government issues, including financing of the Umrah pilgrimage to Mecca and the purchase of preferential contracts for a sports equipment company in which he was found guilty. 


FIFA's Independent Ethics Committee, taking action in this regard, has imposed a five-year ban on Ahmad for football-related activities and has also fined him two lakh and twenty thousand dollars. Ahmed had last month expressed his desire to stand for re-election for the post of Africa Football Federation chief but that will not happen after this decision. FIFA said it would soon release full details of its order.
