Indian cricket team will play their first bilateral series in a time of unprecedented crisis for Corona and their first match will be against Australia at Sydney ground on Friday.

India won the three-match ODI series 2–1 on Australian soil in 2018–19, but this time the circumstances are completely different and the Australian team looks stronger than the last time. The series is part of the ICC's ODI World Cup Super League, in which every match won will earn points. This is India's first ODI series under this Super League. India has to host the 50-over World Cup in 2023. The teams that qualify directly for the World Cup are to be decided on the basis of this league.

Most of the players of the Indian team were part of the IPL which ended in UAE on 10 November this month and all the players of the team reached Sydney directly from Dubai. Here the team has been ready for their first international match in Corona after being in Quarantine for 14 days. On the other hand, the Australian team played three-three T20 and ODI series in England before the IPL.

Australia have 20 points from three matches in the Super League while India are yet to open their account. Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, it is a big challenge for Team India to choose the right combination for the ODI series.
