COVID - 19 UPDATES

Highlighting the issue related to possible infection spreading to villages, the Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has on Sunday appealed the migrant laborers to maintain status quo, instead of making hue & cries. If they fail, possibilities of spreading the dieses across the villages cannot be ruled out, Kejriwal said.

Emphasizing on extending all possible helps to the needy, especially financial help, Kejriwal said the citizens must think over conditions of their families and friends and help them checking the virus in all possible ways.

\Scared of job loss due to ongoing lockdown that may stuck them into financial crisis in days to come, a large chunk of laborers fleeing from the Delhi and suburban to their native places.

On the other hands, section of laborers claimed that they were vacated by their landlords.

Meanwhile, the union government has appealed the landlords not to demand room rent from the laborers, at least for a month.

“The government will take action against those found harassing the laborers in the name of room rents”, the Government said in its order released on Saturday.

The Delhi chief Minister however claimed that he had made appropriate arrangements including food and lodging for the laborers.
