Prayagraj: The world’s largest religious congregation, the Maha Kumbh Mela, is set to begin on January 13, 2025, in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The iconic event, held every 12 years, is expected to attract an estimated 10-15 lakh devotees daily, including saints, pilgrims, and international visitors.

The Uttar Pradesh government, along with various religious and administrative bodies, has made elaborate arrangements to ensure a seamless experience for devotees. Enhanced infrastructure, including improved transport, sanitation, and medical facilities, has been established to cater to the massive influx of people.

Key Highlights:

  • The Mela will host sacred bathing rituals at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers, beginning with Makar Sankranti on January 14.
  • Over 30,000 security personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order, with advanced surveillance systems ensuring safety.
  • The event will also feature cultural programs, discourses by spiritual leaders, and exhibitions highlighting Indian traditions and heritage.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently reviewed the preparations and stated, "The Maha Kumbh Mela is not just a religious gathering but a symbol of India’s cultural grandeur. We are committed to providing world-class facilities to devotees and pilgrims."

The event is also expected to boost tourism and local businesses, drawing significant international attention. Authorities have set up dedicated zones for accommodations, food courts, and information centers to assist visitors.
