Modi along with Mamta, to make aerial survey of north coastal districts of Odisha ravaged by Amphan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha today to conduct an aerial survey of the north coastal districts battered by the severe cyclonic storm Amphan. Security has been tightened at the Bhubaneswar airport in view of the visit of the Prime Minister who after an aerial survey of the cyclone Amphan hit areas of West Bengal will fly to Odisha to make the aerial survey of the cyclone hit areas. Mr Modi will also chair a review meeting with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other senior officials of the state at the Bhubaneswar airport after the aerial survey.


Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had already made an aerial survey of the north coastal districts ravaged by the cyclonic storm Amphan yesterday and directed the authority to complete the restoration work within two days. Although the severe cyclonic storm has affected about 45 lakh population spread over 12 north and coastal districts, the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara are the worst affected in the cyclone. Mr. Modi had assured all possible help from the Centre to Odisha in the restoration of the areas hit by the cyclone Amphan.


“ My thoughts are with the people of Odisha as the state bravely battles the effects of Cyclone Amphan. I pray that the situation normalises at the earliest,” Mr.Modi had tweeted yesterday.
