Accusing the government of not paying attention to the farmers' movement, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that rather than solving people's problems the government only gives importance to the interests of its crony capitalist friends.

He further said that whichever group from the society tries to voice their concerns for their rights and benefits against the government's policies, the government instead of addressing their concern and resolving their issues terms them anti-nationals, Khalistani, COVID carriers and Naxals and directs its efforts towards muzzling their voice.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter Mr Gandhi said, 'For Modi Govt: Dissenting students are anti-nationals. Concerned citizens are urban Naxals. Migrant labourers are Covid carriers. Rape victims are nobody. Protesting farmers are Khalistani. And Crony capitalists are best friends.'

Rahul has been continuously launching attacks on the government and its ways of handling the farmer issues and the economy for a while.

The Congress had earlier supported the farmers call for Bharat Bandh on December 8.

He had earlier said that the bills were not passed in a correct manner, and, were rather imposed on the farmers.

Mr Gandhi had upheld the farmers for protesting for their demands in a very peaceful manner.

Rahul had said that had the bills been in favour of the farmers, then why would they come out on streets and protest against them.

Rahul had clearly said that everyone is standing with the farmers, and no one can shake the farmers as they are 'India' and everyone stands with them.
