India captured the World Cup for the second time in 2011 today (2 April). In 1983, India had the distinction of becoming the champion for the first time. That is, after 28 years, Team India once again made history. With this, the Indian team became the third such team after the West Indies and Australia, which managed to capture the title two or more times.

Earlier, the team that scored a century in the finals had won. But this happened for the first time when the century did not work. Even after Mahela Jayawardene's unbeaten 103 runs, Sri Lanka did not get the win. Chasing a target of 275 runs, India had its initial setbacks. 2 wickets fell for just 31 runs.

At one time, Team India had lost 3 wickets for 114 runs. Opener Gautam Gambhir was at the crease and Yuvraj Singh had to come to support him. But to everyone's surprise, Captain Dhoni came to the crease before Yuvraj at number five. He led to the win of India by playing a blazing inning, he was the man of the match.
