Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday took a dig at the Centre over rise in fuel prices saying development in the Narendra Modi-led government has reached such a stage that no hike fuel rates grabs headlines.

'Development in Modi-led government has reached a point where no fuel price hike becomes a big news,' he tweeted in Hindi.

Notably, petrol and diesel prices witnessed a hike for the tenth time this month.

After the latest price revision, petrol in Delhi is costing Rs 96.93 per/litre, while diesel is being sold at Rs 87.69.

In Mumbai, petrol and diesel rates have shot up to Rs 103.08 per/litre and Rs 95.14 per/litre respectively.

Chennai also witnessed an upward trend in fuel prices with petrol being sold at Rs 98.14 per/litre and diesel at Rs 92.31.

While petrol price in Kolkata rose to Rs 96.84 per/litre, diesel rate was pegged at Rs 90.54.

The people of Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district are the worst hit with the petrol and diesel being sold at Rs 108.07 and Rs 100.82 respectively.
