Well-known space scientist and Padmavibhushan awarded to Prof. Roddam Narasimha died. He was 87. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.

Family members of the late scientist said that Prof. Narasimha was suffering from a cardiac ailment and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital where he breathed his last last night.

Professor of Scientific Advisor to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Director of National Space Laboratory. Narasimha's fighter aircraft Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) has been an important contributor to the design and development of Tejas.

The Central Government has given Prof. Narasimha was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the country's second-highest civilian honor, in 2013 for his contribution in the field of space science.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and dignitaries have mourned the death of Prof Narasimha.
