Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday issued orders to lock down Shamli district after a Covid-19 patient was detected.
According to the report issued by KGMU here, Shahnavaz ,33, a native of Kairana was affected by the virus.
The patient returned from Dubai on March 15 and was under quarantine since then in his home. The patient only complained of sore throat.
Meanwhile, the Shamli authorities have appealed to the people to follow the orders of lock down which was enforced at 0900 hours and asked the people not to come out of their houses.
Shamli was the 18th district in the state to go for lock down and this was the first case in Saharanpur division.
