On a day when prayers are being held across globe for tolerance, love, compassion commemorating Lord Buddha's birthday, India is forced to pledge 'precise response' to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.

According to experts, amid fighting Covid-19 with other major global players, the Narendra Modi Government is facing another 'crucial task'- to hit back appropriately.

Five security personnel, including a colonel and a major, were killed in an encounter with Pak-aided terrorists in North Kashmir's Handwara on May 3.

A day after, on Monday, three CRPF personnel were killed and two others injured when militants opened fire during a patrol in Kashmir's Kupwara district.

Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane said, "Pakistan is pushing terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir under its 'myopic and limited' agenda even during the Coronavius disease outbreak."

"India will respond appropriately and with 'precision' to state-sponsored terrorism," the Army Chief asserted.

He iterated that the infiltration attempts by Pakistan along the LoC clearly indicated that the neighbouring country was not interested in battling Covid-19 unitedly.

" It still continues to employ proxies to inflict terror and violence not only inside India but also in Afghanistan, where it supports the Taliban militarily and financially," the Army Chief maintained.

Meanwhile, reports pouring in from parts of country said, staying at home, people in large numbers are celebrating 'Buddha Purnima' with due solemnity.

The worldwide Covid death toll, in the meantime, touched 2,63000 as India is accounted for 1,783.
